🌄 Day 1 – Into the Highlands: Welcome to San Cristóbal de las Casas

Arrival in Tuxtla Gutiérrez. Begin your journey in the mountains and breathe in the cool, pine-scented air of San Cristóbal de las Casas. A colonial town full of cobblestone charm and mountain views, visit artisan markets, and soak in the energy of one of Mexico’s most soulful towns.

🛶 Day 2 – Canyon of the Spirits: Cañón del Sumidero + Chiapa de Corzo

Morning: Boat ride through the towering cliffs of Cañón del Sumidero, where the waterfalls pour from the sky. Your guide shares myths of the canyon spirits as you glide past caves.

Explore the riverside town of Chiapa de Corzo and stroll through artisan corridors.
On the way back: Stop at a quiet mirador (viewpoint) above the canyon.

Evening: Return to San Cristóbal and relax.

☕ Day 3 – Waterfall Wonders & Coffee Roots

Begin the day with a special visit to a family-run coffee farm in the highlands. Walk the plantations, harvest cherries, and roast beans over fire. Learn the full journey from bean to cup and taste Chiapas in its purest form.

Then head south to the thundering El Chiflón Waterfalls. Hike through tropical forest, swim beneath turquoise cascades, and try ziplining over the river.

Continue to Lagos de Montebello, a hidden lake district on the Guatemala border.

🌊 Day 4 – Borderland Beauty: Kayaks & Cross-Cultural Trails

Wake early for a peaceful kayak glide across one of Montebello’s most secluded lakes, hike with a Lacandon guide through forest trails.

Visit Cenote Pojoj, a lesser-known lake with floating gardens and surreal silence.
Bonus: Taste handmade border-style tamales crafted by a local family — a flavor you won’t forget.

Evening: Return to San Cristóbal and unwind.

🍫 Day 5 – Into the Jungle: Misol-Ha & Chocolate in the Tropics

Travel toward the lowland jungle. On the way, stop at Misol-Ha, a powerful waterfall crashing into a jungle pool. Walk behind the cascade into a misty cave.

Before reaching Palenque, visit a cacao farm in the forest. Learn how chocolate is grown, fermented, ground, and prepared. Make your own ceremonial cacao drink and taste ancient flavors from the source.

🛕 Day 6 – Lost Worlds: Palenque Ruins

Early morning access to the Palenque Ruins, one of the most mysterious Maya cities, shrouded in forest and myth. Climb temples, hear ancient tales, and let the jungle speak.

Time to rest, reflect, or explore the nearby jungle paths.

Add-on Option: A local historian shares a short talk about Maya beliefs, the underworld, and cosmic cycles.

🐒 Day 7 – River of Ruins: Yaxchilán by Boat + Jungle Picnic

Embark on a river expedition to Yaxchilán, a remote archaeological site only accessible by boat along the Usumacinta River.

Along the way, spot macaws, monkeys, and iguanas. Walk through overgrown temples, echoing chambers, and silent plazas reclaimed by nature.

Return by sunset for a final evening in the jungle, closing with a storytelling circle under the stars.

🌅 Day 8 – Return Journey with a Final View

Depart for your return via Villahermosa or Tuxtla, depending on your flight.

On the road, stop at a panoramic viewpoint to take one last look at the vast green sea of the Chiapan jungle.
